THE TRANSFORMERS

THE TRANSFORMERS

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove what is good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2).

Transform: A person or thing that transforms. To be transformed is to change from or outward appearance.  To change the condition, nature or function of, convert, to change the personality or character.

How can God’s people resist the pressures that can “squeeze” them into conformity with the world?  According to Romans 12:2 “Conformers” are people whose lives are controlled by pressure from without.  But “TRANSFORMERS” are people whose lives are controlled by the power from within.  Instead of being changed, the TRANSFORMERS do the changing!

The Holy Bible is designed not only to inform our judgments, but to reform our hearts and lives. The apostle Paul absolutely calls for a radical change.  We must not be conformed to the world, but transformed from it.  We are not to try to match our life to all the moral lies and standards of this world.  We are not called by God to be like a Chameleon, which takes its color from its surroundings.  Christians should be so different that we stand out!  We cause people to take pause!  Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego stood out in Babylon because they refused to be conformed to the Babylonians customs, which made men look at God!  Their stand up behavior and loyalty to the kingdom of God, pointed King Nebuchadnezzar to the sovereignty of God.

“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with portions of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: Therefore he requested the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.” (Daniel 1:8).

To worship and serve God, we must undertake a change, not of our outward form, but of our inward personality.  People produce outwardly what is in their heart.  If sin abides in a person’s heart.  The outward display will be adored with sinfulness…period!  It’s not a disease, it’s not a malfunction on God’s behalf, IT IS SIN ABIDING WITHIN! WE WERE ALL BORN IN SIN AND SHAPEN IN INIQUITY! With that being said, what is that change that must happen inwardly?  We must be dominated by the Holy Spirit.  How do we receive the Holy Spirit?  We received the Holy Spirit by accepting and believing in the Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God!

When the essential man has been changed through faith in Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, now he lives, not a self-centered life, but a Christ centered life.  In Christ is where the renewing of the believer’s mind takes transformation.  Where there is also a new character and nature.  Here is where we understand that people do not have to act out a sinful life.  Because in Christ we can be transformed into the likeness of Christ. It’s true because I know that I am not what I use to be.  I have become a new creature through the power of the Holy Spirit! People who live lawless and immorally do so because they CHOOSE to do so!  Here is the answer right before the sinner and yet they will SWEAR there is no solution to their condition!  Conversion and sanctification are the renewing of the mind, a change not of the substance, but of the quality of the soul.

This is called transforming us; it is like putting on a new shape and figure, “Metamorphous.”  The transfiguration of Christ is expressed these words: “And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.” (Matthew 17:2).

If sinners entice us, we must not consent to them, but in our places witness against them.  We must not conform to the customs and ways of the world.  The world must not be our chief rule as it dictates sinful living.  We can be civil and not rude in our stance, but be determined to take the narrow pathway to eternal life and not the broadway to destruction! Civil things are intended to govern the unruly and the spiritual things, such as the gospel are to rule our soul!

What is the great effect of this renewing which we must labor after?  “That you may prove what is good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.”  By this we are TRANSFORMING the world as Jesus did.  Jesus was a TRANSFORMER.  He did not follow the world, he denied the world his heart and his attention.  He followed his Father’s plan to plant the Kingdom of God in the hearts and minds of men.  To redeem his children by sparking man’s heart with the truth, that God is the Creator and sovereign Lord of all.

THE TRANSFORMER – Jesus Christ was the greatest TRANSFORMER of all times.  He never yield to temptation, he never sinned, and his message of God’s love and power still rings true today and forever!  Be a TRANSFORMER FOR JESUS.  Live the life of righteousness that we may transform the world by how we live.  For the record, this message is for the saved and the sinner! God bless you and amen!
