“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and they staff they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4).

Death is a conversation that many choose not to disgust or acknowledge.  How be it, death occurs by the thousands every day.  I read somewhere that, “Only a fool would not think of death daily”.  In the book of Job, when his children were killed, due to Satan’s hate, he said, “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me”.   Death is the result of sin committed in the Garden of Eden by Adam and Eve. No matter how we try to pray it away or ignore it, Death is real, and it is appointed to every living being/creature on this earth. However, for the Christian believer it is a WALK THROUGH, When the Shadow of Death Comes!

A shadow is a dark area where light from a light source is blocked by a smokey object. The shadow of Death blocks the light of God in the valley of transition. It is a dim place where the righteous must trust the guidance of God to lead them through to the light of his kingdom. In the Valley of the Shadow of Death one is charged with many convictions and counts of sin. Even so, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me. In the shadow of death, I am convicted, but in the valley, God pledges the blood of Jesus and he leads with his rod and staff and comforts me. While one’s soul is walking in valley of the shadow of death, God gives his children comfort. The child of God meets the messenger of death and receives a summons.  Then God gives death’s messenger a reply, “Pardon” of all charges and are washed in the Jesus Christ.

Death is a man’s lowest valley, which rests between hills or mountains of sin.  It is a depression that is longer than it is wide. In the valley of the shadow of death, a man must face himself and pray that he has lived a life in obedience to God, who is the Good Shepherd. If he has lived a life that has been commanded by the Good Shepherd, he will not be moved by Death drums. The Apostle Paul stated: “O Death, where is thy sting, O grave, where is thy victory?” (I Cor. 15:55). Death cannot separate us from the love of God, and therefore, Death can do us no real harm; it kills the body but cannot not touch the soul. For the righteous, Death is swallowed up in victory! This corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, glory to God!

The Lord is my shepherd and I trust him to walk with me in my valleys.  One must give a personal affirmation of faith in Jesus Christ.  When the Shadow of Death Comes, we must be able to view God as our provider, guide and protector as we walk through the valley of the shadow of death. The good shepherd will not only conduct his sheep through the valley where Death, the king of terror abides. The Lord will protect and keep close so close that no harm to will befall us. Death is waiting to snare lost souls to eternal damnation.  Those lost souls are those who are not washed in the blood of Jesus Christ. The saints of God have his gracious presence with them. He escorts us through and we walk, not run through. There is peace in the valley for the children of God because he comforts us all the way home.

Each generation witness the deaths of their loved ones. I heard several people say, “Everyone I know is dead or dying”. Death is casting its shadow all around us, and the bell is tolling for us and our loved ones. But the terror should not be that the shadow of death has come, we should all know that the death is inevitable. What the real dread should be, is we/they ready in Christ When the Shadow of Death Comes! I am compelled by the Holy Spirit to warn everyone to get their soul right with Jesus Christ. It is impossible to past through the valley of the shadow of Death without Jesus Christ! All the provisions many are making for their bodies, they should turn that urgency to their soul, which never dies. Will you be ready When the Shadow of Death Comes?

For the record, this is written for the whole world to prepare to meet the Spirit of Death! He’s real, all you have to do is look up “Obituaries and Cemetries”, and you will know the truth! Get your soul right with Jesus Christ, he is your ticket to walk THROUGH the valley of the shadow of Death and fear no harm! God bless you and amen!
